A holiday week in Southern California — Disneyland and Disney California Adventure decked out for Christmas, the Hollywood Sign and the Walk of Fame, the ice-age skeletons of the La Brea Tar Pits, the Santa Monica coast, the battleship USS Iowa, and New Year's fireworks bursting over Sleeping Beauty Castle. A holiday week in Southern California, and this time Disneyland was the anchor. The parks were decked out for Christmas — Disneyland and California Adventure both — and we timed it so the New Year's fireworks burst right over Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Around the parks we filled the days with the classics: the Hollywood Sign and the Walk of Fame, the ice-age skeletons of the La Brea Tar Pits, the Santa Monica coast, and the battleship USS Iowa down at the port. A festive, full week to send off the year.

This trip ran 7 days, December 25, 2016 – January 1, 2017. Along the way we spent time at Disney California Adventure, Hollywood & Los Angeles, Disneyland, and USS Iowa Battleship. The gallery below tells it day by day, in 39 photographs.
