Meet me in St. Louis

A quick spring trip to the Gateway City: up the great stainless-steel Arch for the view over the Mississippi, then a tour of the historic Anheuser-Busch brewery and a visit with the famous Budweiser Clydesdales. Tap any photo to enlarge it, or open the map.

A quick spring trip to St. Louis, the Gateway City. The big draw is exactly what you'd expect — a ride to the top of the great stainless-steel Arch for the long view out over the Mississippi.

From there we toured the historic Anheuser-Busch brewery and paid a visit to its most famous residents, the Budweiser Clydesdales. Short and sweet, and pure Midwest Americana.

This trip ran 2 days, April 28–29, 2007. Along the way we spent time at The Gateway Arch, The Anheuser-Busch Brewery, and The Budweiser Clydesdales. The gallery below tells it day by day, in 17 photographs.
