A late-summer trip to Northern Michigan — the wildflowers and waterfalls around Traverse City, the forested switchbacks of the Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive, and the great sand mountains of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore tumbling down to the impossible blue of Glen Lake and Lake Michigan.
